Governor Perdue has asked all Georgia school systems to close Monday, September 26, and Tuesday, September 27, in effect taking two “snow” days. Only 12-month GCPS employees should report.
Gov. Sonny Perdue has asked public schools around the state to cancel classes on Monday and Tuesday of next week, an effort to conserve gasoline supplies.
What an idiot! How is this going to help anything? It just throws off our plans, our schedules, and gets rid of two perfectly good holidays later in the year.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand what good this is going to do us? Diesel isn’t that expensive anyway…

yeah, i like the four day weekend, don’t like that holidays later in the year are beign taken off, and no gas or electricity will be saved for the state of GA becuase more people will be driving than otherwise would be, negating the fuel savings. It is a bad idea that gives us a four day weekend (still like the 4 day weekend though).
