I was a warrior. I felt powerful wielding my weapon high and strong for my companions to behold. I was in my native territory. I was king of my domain. I hunted him. I withstood his tests of agility and patience, and in the end, I was dominant.
I killed an enormous fly today. In fact, it was enor-moose.
I suppose I’ve had a rather groovy weekend. The Ever-So-Yearned-After bell marking the end of Español and the beginning of my weekend came earlier than anticipated and at quite a wonderful time. The plan for Friday was to go pick up mi hermana from Tech, go to IKEA, purchase yours truly and yours truly’s father a desk, and finish it all up with some cello kabob at the Persian restaurant. The plan was executed beautiful with one minor flaw; IKEA never has anything in stock.
I found a sweet table top and leg set as well as a nice set of drawers, but we couldn’t find the table top at all in their Self-Serve area. Asked some chick, she said they had 27, but if there weren’t any on the floor, then there weren’t any in stock… Umm… yeah, right…
Mi madre noticed a pallet of boxes two shelves up that had the same item number as my groovy desk. So anyway, they’re not allowed to pull out forklifts during store hours, so they said they’d take them down tonight and put two aside for us (mi padre wanted one too) to pick up tomorrow. Gave us a hold form and we were on our way.
The next day I went to piano and then the eye doctor again for a followup exam. Let’s just say the doctor is a complete idiot, but that’s an entirely different rant in and of itself. Came home… my dad was being lazy… When we finally left to go get the desks, he told me he wanted to stop at Brandsmart to see what TVs they had. (I said we were getting a TV last week, but I lied. That was the plan, but my dad is sort of cheap.) I said whatever, I just want my desk, not thinking they’d have anything other than generic Taiwanese brands you’d never heard of.
So we go to Brandsmart, and end up buying a TV in a matter of 15 minutes. Heh, didn’t expect that to happen. I’m normally not a fan of Sharp, but their AQUOS TVs are pretty well known and it’s hella sleek. The standard definition doesn’t look too great up close, but whatever. We’ll just have to get HD soon. So then we went to IKEA to pick up the desks…
I guess usually when you put an item on hold, you pay for it in advance so they’ll put it aside for you… But these dudes were being really nice or something and just took them aside for us I guess. When we tried to pay for them, the lady told us they were already paid for and said we could just go… So umm… we did try to pay for them… Two $29 tables for free though… :/
Spent the evening with wonderful people doing wonderful things, singing wonderful songs, and being wonderful in general.
I got up this morning to put together my desk because that’s what I was most excited about and needed the most. Needless to say, it’s huge. And it’s also needless to say anything other than that.

Note the file cabinet drawer, my aamazing monkey named George who dwells atop my iMac, the fish keychain on my bulletin board, the screwed up CD I actually use as a coaster, and my kick-ass Mexican wallet (courtesy of Obed)
There’s not much else to say. Life is pretty good. School isn’t bad. My science fair project isn’t really working out though… We got our approvals back last week. I started last week. And nothing’s happened yet… Umm… not good. Bad mold.
I’ve decided to make myself a bedtime of 10:15, and word on the street is that that’s what all the pimps are doing.
