So, I’ve been back for awhile and neglected to post. Which basically means this will be lame. I’m not good at blogging anymore.

I had a lot of fun, overall. It was probably one of the better trips we’ve taken in the recent past (excusing Italy and Israel of course). I dunno, we had a nice blend of sightseeing (Yosemite and Sequoia Parks) and family seeing (everyone!).

We got to my grandma’s house at 2:30 in the morning Pacific, 5:30 real people time. Went to bed forever and chilled and stuff. We stayed there the next day for the 4th, but due to cultural confusion or something, we had turkey for dinner. Ha. I think on the 6th we left to go south towards Yosemite Park.

It was pretty cool. I mean, not aamazing by any standards. Plus it was just the four of us, my family, so you can’t expect too much. Geez everything’s far though. If you’re hungry, it’ll take you more than an hour just to drive to someplace that sells food. And that’s by car. We’re not really used to driving in the mountains in Georgia, and I’m quite thankful. But it was nice I suppose. Glacier Point is pretty pretty. (heh, pretty pretty)

After Yosemite for a day and a half, we left for Sequoia Park. Got there towards late, and rather than risking not finding a hotel in the height of tourist season, we stopped in Visalia. Now back when my dad was a pimp (I wish I had that picture of him in a white disco suit), before he even met my mom, he lived and worked in Visalia. It’s a weird, quaint little place. His stories about learning Spanish, cruising, and running across the highway to K-Mart were golden. After staying overnight (and not going to Adventure Park!), we went towards Sequoia Park in the morning.

It’s called Sequoia Park because they have Sequoia trees. That’s basically all they have there worth seeing. Which is why we only spent the day there. But uhh… the trees were… big?

Back at home, we chilled again for a day or so before my aunt, uncle, Tina, and Bo came up from LA. For the first time since ‘99, my grandma had all 3 of her kids together, plus all of their kids (minus one…). Bo made things a lot cooler I think. The day after they got there, we all went to San Francisco (the greatest big city in the world). Over the next few days we went to Carmel and some other place or something. It’s all run together in my mind now. But Bo, Saam, my uncle, and I all went to Fry’s for a little techiness. It wasn’t as intense as our 6-hour, $800 spree in the Atlanta store, but that was fun as well.

Then pretty soon after, we came home.
Hurray for conclusions!

For some reason we had Turkey on the 4th…
Someone must have been confused about the holidays…

A tribute to the past:

  • Yesterday morning, I watered my plants
  • Then I sat around till after lunch
  • I listened to music
  • My dad came home to pick me up, and he brought me half of a thing of fries
  • I peed at Kroger
  • I cut some grass
  • I washed a garage
  • I blew some grass, and then some more
  • I found out my dad’s worker is named Telmo
  • I ate food for dinner
  • I took a shower and got paid $40, but not in the shower
  • I read 100 pages of Deception Point
  • I watched some TV

It was much more exciting in person, I swear.

  • I’m going to get a new passport this morning, and I don’t know why

«Unless I can figure out how to schedule startup and shutdown in Linux from the CLI, the website might be offline the whole time I’m in California.»

edit: From now until the end (of summer at least), the website will be up from 9:30AM – 12:00AM EDT.
double-edit: Well, I configured everything the day we were leaving, so I never had a change to test it… It seems the server turned on at like 5:45AM today… and I have no idea when it turned off as I was airborne at the moment…
