Reasons today has been grand:
- I’ve been done with class since 8:50
- I finally made it back to the gym
- I’m done with all my homework
- it’s over 50° outside and the sun is here!
- it’s shawarma/gyro/doner day at WoodruffÂ
Upon returning to school on Monday night, I figured I’d call it an early night so as not to disrupt sleeping patterns. I got in bed at 11:30 and turned my alarm clock on sleep for 15 minutes. Still not asleep. Another 15 minute sleep cycle. My mind won’t stop swimming, always distracted for the same reasons. Another 15 minute sleep cycle. By 12:15 I figure I’d better just lie in the darkness. The fire alarm goes off. 12:20am, just below freezing outside.
The next morning, the blessed alarm clock woke me up to Patrick Park’s “Life Is a Song,” and everything felt alright.
